An Idea... A Mission.

"Every knight started with a wooden sword."

This started the same. A wooden sword necklace carved by a high school student seeking after God—a symbol of purity in struggling with temptation, devotion, and daily commitment to the King. The same sword when worn on your shirt both represents the Sword of the Spirit and the Cross, a constant reminder of God’s glory and truth.

That simple necklace became a vision: encouraging the sons and daughters of the King to walk like warriors and live for the King, Swords drawn through the adventure of life, to glorify Yahweh.

What is SOS Apparel's Mission?

SOS Apparel strives to make faith-based apparel rooted in Scripture, hand-translated from original Greek and Hebrew. Like medieval knights spiritually armed for battle, we stand firm in life's war—not in our own strength, but wielding the Sword of the Spirit, the Word of God.

Yahweh, the Lord of Armies, is our defense.

Whether man or woman, you are shielded by His armor when you follow the King.
The Sword has been given to you. Stand ready. Be a knight of light for the King.

What does that mean?

It means not living this life for yourself but for the Lord. It means that through all we do, we lean on him who gives us our love, value, and purpose, and we glorify him. Wear apparel designed with this purpose in mind: to glorify Yahweh wherever you go.

You may not feel very mighty, but God will guide you. Remember, "Every knight started out with a wooden sword."

— Follow Yahweh, the Lord of Armies.™ —

In 11th grade, high school, with an eager desire to love God and rely on him through personal struggles, a boy read 2 verses:

—> Proverb 3:3 "Do not let mercy (lovingkindness) and truth forsake you. Bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart."

—> Ephesians 6:17 "And receive the Helmet of Salvation, and the Sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."

His truth should always guide us. This sparked an idea to make a wooden necklace of the wood from the country he grew up in and to bind it around his neck to symbolize his commitment to purity and truth in the Lord. A symbol of total reliance on the one true God, Yahweh, and a life devoted to him.

He drew his idea out and hand-carved it with a pocket knife, finishing it with varnish and tying it with a cord. This necklace would be finished in his 12th grade year, and a second like it would be made as a gift for his now wife.

The Sword doubles as a Cross, a symbol of God's ultimate sacrificial love.

Elijah Edelen is the Owner & Founder of SOS Apparel, studying Ancient Greek and Hebrew, along with linguistics, for the purpose of overseas Bible Translation in the future. Elijah grew up as a missionary kid on an island overseas for 11 years. He is now newly married to his beautiful wife, Devin, and loves to spend time with her, along with leading Bible Studies and discipling young believers.

Growing in his relationship with God and leading his wife in Christ are his number one passions, and he enjoys encouraging others to walk as warriors of the light for their King. He loves the beach & waterfalls, yet also has hobbies such as board games, video games, movies, and design.

Devin, his wife, loves God so much, loves adventures, and loves showing others how much God loves them.
